About Mainland Carpentry Inc.
I am Michael Ninivaggi, owner of Mainland Carpentry, and I have been in the construction business for over 25 years. I started my carpentry career in 1982 when I enrolled in the District Council of Carpenters apprentice program. I studied and worked in the program for four years where I ultimately received my Journeymen's Status. My studies include every aspect of carpentry, from forming concrete work to furniture building. I have taken Blueprint reading courses as well as Supervisor training courses with a strong focus on how to coordinate carpentry with other trades. My scope of work includes residential homes, town houses, hotels, museums, high-end condominiums, office buildings, restaurants and movie theatres.
Battery Park was the first major site that I followed from the ground up. The process intrigued me and my desire to build stemmed from actually viewing the transformation of this old dumping post into a self contained city. My experience covers foundations and structural concrete, all the way through finish carpentry.
I started my own construction company in 1995. My first ground up project was my own home, located in Merrick, NY. Residential construction was booming in Nassau County and it was a perfect time to venture out. I have since completed numerous projects, including Master Suites, Custom Kitchens & Baths, Dormers, Extensions, Masonry and Custom Built homes. I also have experience in building with GREEN-eco-friendly products that are non-toxic and guaranteed to be safe for you, your children, your home and our environment.
I work hands on; I stay involved in your project from the planning stage all the way through completion. I enjoy every step of the process. I have an experienced and professional group of employees who take pride in their work and are responsive to our customers needs.
